ScoreTap — Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the ScoreTap website or application (“ScoreTap,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use ScoreTap.

2. Overview of the Service

ScoreTap is a web-based application that allows users to:

  • Track sports scores and game activity (including shots and goals),
  • Customize team names per game or session, and
  • Receive game summaries by email.

The service is provided free of charge and is intended for individuals, coaches, parents, and team managers.

3. Use of the Service

You agree to use ScoreTap only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:

  • Attempt to disrupt or damage the service;
  • Use automated tools or bots to overload the system;
  • Misuse the email or session features; or
  • Attempt to access data of other users.

We reserve the right to suspend or block access if misuse or abuse is detected.

4. Accounts and Emails

ScoreTap does not require a user account or login. When you enter an email address to receive a game summary:

  • The email is used only for delivering the summary you requested;
  • The email address and associated IP address may be stored to ensure proper function and to prevent misuse;
  • You are responsible for ensuring that any email address you enter belongs to you or that you have permission to use it.

5. Data Collection and Privacy

We collect limited information to operate the service effectively, including:

  • Email addresses (for summary delivery);
  • IP addresses (for security and misuse prevention); and
  • Game data such as team names, scores, and shots (for summary generation).

6. Intellectual Property

All software, design, and related content on ScoreTap are owned by Pivotal Technology Inc. You may not copy, reproduce, modify, or distribute any part of ScoreTap without prior written consent.

You retain ownership of the game data you enter (scores, team names, etc.), but you grant us a limited license to use that data for the purpose of operating the service and delivering summaries.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

ScoreTap is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We make no warranties, express or implied, regarding the reliability, accuracy, or availability of the service. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Pivotal Technology Inc. and its affiliates shall not be liable for any damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, ScoreTap — including data loss, email delivery issues, or inaccuracies in scoring data.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the service at any time, for any reason, without notice. Users may stop using the service at any time.

10. Modifications

We may update these Terms periodically. Updates will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts located in Alberta, Canada.
